This Week in The Cauldron October 17 – 23

Hey Y’all,

Thank you for joining me for my weekly planning session. This is what I’m mixing up in the cauldron this week:

Writing Plans

I have been struggling to get back to writing. Because of my Not Writing Plans (keep reading) it may not happen this week either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not Writing Plans

The other half, Céilí, and I will be headed east for a couple of days in the country near Wexford. It will be our first trip with our new girl, so we are about to find out how she likes traveling. We have our fingers crossed for positive results as we love to travel and we have plans to take her with us as much as possible.

And I’m sharing a picture of our girl on a morning walk because I think she’s so darn cute.

What I’m Reading

Because we’ll be on the road for several hours, I have a selection of books lined up for the week.

You can click on the link to be taken to Amazon to see the full book description. FYI – these are affiliate links which means that if you buy one of the books, I earn a few cents.

Deadly Keepsakes – A cozy mystery written by a fellow retired Dallas Police officer, Anita Dickason, and set in Granbury, Texas. I finished this book yesterday, but since I’m late getting this post up, it still counts as a book I’ve read this week. I highly recommend it. Anita’s writing style in this book reminds me of one of my favorite mystery authors, Mary Higgins Clark. This is the first book in what will be a series, and I can’t wait for future installments. Check out Anita’s website at AnitaDickason.com

Sparks and Landmarks –  Book four in the Mitzy Moon cozy mystery series by Trixie Silvertale. I’m enjoying this series about a burgeoning psychic who is being trained in the ways of all things paranormal by her grandmother’s ghost.

The Last Vampire Book Two – I finished book 1, which caught my interest enough to move on to book two in the series. The series is about a vampire (the last vampire, hence the title), a succubus/human mix, and the fae trying to hunt her down. It’s intriguing and a little steamy.

Everlong – by R. Raeta is about what it means to be a creature who lives forever. Not the glitz, but the reality of trying to fill your time and making connections with humans who will die before you.

Other News

In honor of Halloween, The Blood Will Tell is on sale for .99¢.

Don’t miss the chance to own the second installment in THE LARAMIE HARPER CHRONICLES.

Thought for the Week

Happy Reading!
