What does Genre Fluid mean? Simply stated, I read a variety of genres. Mystery, thriller, paranormal, romance, urban fantasy, regular fantasy, fiction, or non-fiction—it makes no difference to me. I also read ebooks, old fashioned paper books, and I consider listening to audiobooks as reading.

I LOVE this series. This is book two and I can’t wait for book three to be released. Landra lives in a world where warriors and magic are at odds. Her father is the head warrior and her ultimate dream is to become a warrior, but she has magic. 😬

The Witch Woods Funeral Home by Morgana Best
Laurel has done her best to escape from her hometown and the family business. The two main reasons she tries to stay away: are that she can talk to ghosts and her mother is crazy. But when her father dies, he leaves the business to her and the house next door to her mother. The family business is a funeral home, full of ghosts, and her mother thinks she still runs the place.
This is a box set of four, light, cozy mysteries.
Shattered Crystal by Miri Cosette
A FREE, yes, FREE short story that I enjoyed. I listed it in The Night Club newsletter, but I wanted to add it again here. The author will be releasing a book this summer, and I can’t wait to read it. In the meantime, this has a psychic AND vampires. What more could you want?

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
I usually will only list books that I genuinely love here, and I can’t say that I loved this book. The characters pulled me straight in, and I was sure I was going to love it. But, the vampire storyline seemed a little off, and by the end, I felt kind of, eh, about it. But the book is trendy and I have seen a lot of rave reviews, so maybe I missed something.
Audio Books
Lethal White by Robert Galbraith
In case you didn’t know, Robert Galbraith is a pen name for J.K. Rowling, but the Cormoron Strike books are about as far from Harry Potter as you can get.
Cormoran is a private detective who can barely keep his London agency afloat. But with the help of his assistant turned partner Robin, they manage. Fair warning number one, this is book four in the series so I suggest you start with book one. Fair warning number two, these books are loooong. I listen to them on audiobooks because I love the narrator. This one has twenty files, so it is probably around twenty hours long.
The Merlot Murders by Ellen Crosby
I love wine and mysteries, so this book ticks both boxes. Lucy Montgomery returns to her family vineyards in Virginia when her father dies. His death appeared to be an accident, but then his long time friend is killed. Lucy is under pressure from her siblings to sell the estate, but when she digs in her heels there is an attempt on her life.
The Wine Country Mysteries include a lot of details about wine, specifically the history of winemaking and vineyards in Virginia.
I downloaded it from the library and listened to them on my iPhone. Unfortunately, Amazon only has the CD versions for sale as far as audio goes, but they do have the kindle, paperback, and hardback versions.
The Chardonnay Charade by Ellen Crosby
Yes, I loved the first book so much that I immediately listened to the second one. More murder, mayhem, winemaking, and mystery.
